So, there are seven piles at the end. Six of them are the corners of a hexagon, with the last in the middle. Four of the piles are five cards each, accounting for 20 cards. Three of the piles are seven cards each, accounting for 21 cards. That's 41 cards total.
The standard deck is 36, plus the Excuse which is mentioned in the rules. That's four shy of the 41 cards needed, but the rest of the extended deck would be eight more cards. So, either the pawns or courts should be set aside or the five-card piles should actually be six-card piles.
Or did I miss something?
