I am messing around with the module and I am in the process of adding suit chips. Any other requests for what might be needed? I'm not testing hand options - merely getting pieces together so I can do playtesting when I don't have the deck handy.

Thanks!

Maybe the problem is you're using "Import Module" instead of "Open Module" in the File menu… I always open modules with the "Open" menu item… (be sure to try without and with extension too)

I am running Windows and am using Vassal 3.1.13. I have to admit I'm not too savvy with the program. Here is what I did: I started Vassal, which brings up my Module Library - went to File - Import Module - selected decktet-vassal - and it gives me the following error message "Invalid Import File". I get the same message when I add the file extension.

Every other Vassal Module I have used has the .mod or .vmod extension. That's why I tried adding them.

Any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

The file is a zip file (Vassal mods are zip files). I can open it with Vassal 3.1.2 without having to change or add a extension. Just choose Open from the file menu and it opens… I'm on Mac OS X. Anyone else had problems with the file?

What version of Vassal are you using?

I just tried the link - it downloads an unknown file type, no file extension. I went ahead and tried to import it as a Vassal Mod but Vassal says invalid file type. I went ahead and tried adding the ".vmod" and the ".mod" Vassal file extensions but that also doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

That'd be nice! You're right it'd be nice to add markers and dice, there are many games that use those…

If I have time over the weekend I'll look into it. Zoom buttons are common in VASSAL mods so it should not be hard. I also thought a send-to-back, bring-to-front ability for cards would make some stacking actions easier.

Other nice touches might be a couple dice and some markers.

I've updated the module to support 4 players. Also made the size of the table and hand windows a little bigger.

Right now the module only has one deck and one discard pile. I guess most games only use one of each, but maybe the module should support more??

BTW, I'm not even sure if it works online, has anyone tried? I don't know if in order to play online the module has to be on the vassal server, or if any two players online with the same module will see each other…

I'll leave a session open (with the new version that I just uploaded) and see… :)

I started working on a Vassal module. It's been a while since I've wanted to learn how vassal modules are created, so I dived right into it :)

Here's the link: http://decktet.wikidot.com/local--files/introduction-to-the-decktet/decktet-vassal (from the wiki itself).

Right now it has 2 player sides (red and green) with their own hidden player hands plus the deck on the table with a discard pile.

I guess it's possible to save different setups for different games, but right now there are none. Still, it's not that hard to create a setup from scratch, as you can select cards from the deck manually, or shuffle and deal randomly.

I'm sure there are vassal features I've missed, and other things that could be used too, so please, feel free to comment, suggest, or post any tips or ideas.

-Jorge
